Water is an essential element of the entire living community. About 71% of the Earth is water, of which 96.5% is oceans and seawater. About 2.5% is fresh water, of which 68.7% is ice and glacier. Groundwater freshwater levels are less than 1% of human consumption. Of this amount, only a minimal amount is suitable for drinking.
It is certain that life would be completely lost without life on Earth. Freshwater for humans and other animals and plants seems to be depleting day by day. Network corruption is the main reason for this. But due to many environmental and human activities, water pollution has become difficult to control today.

There are events that are detrimental to the natural existence of the world. Among them are environmental pollution, water pollution, air pollution and noise pollution. Of these, water pollution is the most common cause of damage globally.
What does water pollution mean?
Pollution of water bodies is called water pollution. Rivers, oceans, lakes, aquifers and groundwater are where network shoots are located. This pollution is caused by human activities rather than environmental causes in many cases. But water pollution and its effects will affect not just one individual but all living things in the world.
Three main sources can cause water pollution. That is,
- Industrial waste
- Agricultural wastes
- Household waste Water pollution is caused by factories
03 Major Water Pollution Methods And Ways To Prevent It. Industrial waste is often the most common cause of network corruption. Today, most industrial effluents are discharged directly into the water. Large factories are common to dispose of such wastes, especially in rivers and seas. They release several pollutants into the water without any treatment. Many factories, such as chemical, forest, leather, rubber, and textile factories, emit highly toxic pollutants into the water. These include inks, plastics, metals and other microbial contaminants toxic to the human body. When these harmful substances enter the bodies of humans and animals through water sources, many deadly diseases occur. When these are released into the environment, there is a strong od our and enrichment.

Water pollution associated with agriculture
Water pollution is also prevalent in agriculture today. The immediate release of various chemicals and animal wastes into the water through crop cultivation and animal husbandry is standard. This is a global problem. Water is heavily polluted by pesticides, chemical fertilizers, organic fertilizers, etc., added to them in agriculture. These factors add toxins to the food consumed by humans, destroy aquatic plants, harm marine life, and cause foul odours associated with water sources.
Network pollution through household waste
Network corruption also occurs significantly due to domestic activities. Water is polluted by the release of debris, dead matter, and non-perishable material into the water. This condition is most often associated with urban housing. Most spacious houses, apartment complexes, waterlogged houses and unauthorized houses are now built-in urban areas. As a result, the waste from these houses is collected through the city council, but it is often done illegally. Therefore, drains become blocked, water becomes blocked, and mosquitoes breed. Unfortunately, there is a lack of proper sanitation in many parts of the world, like Sri Lanka. In addition to these methods, many other methods pollute the water.

Water pollution during mining
The water discharged during mining is highly acidic. As a result, the fish and aquatic life in the area die. Thus the natural micro-organisms living in the water break, and the self-purification process of the water is disrupted.
Water pollution associated with animal farms
The main thing here is that the addition of animal carcasses to the five reservoirs causes massive water pollution.
Contamination of water by radioactive material
In nuclear power plants, large amounts of water are needed to produce steam and keep systems cool. Due to this, many of these power plants are located on hydropower, and these power plants pollute water as well as long-term cause damage to human lives.
Thus many more pollute the water. That is,
- Water pollution due to enrichment
- Groundwater pollution
- Water pollution due to oil spills
- Damage caused by plastic polythene
What are the ways to conserve water?
- Industrial Waste Management
- Careful disposal of pests and chemicals systematically without discharging them into the water. Also, introducing low chemical production to farmers.
- Never dispose of plastic, polythene and non-perishable materials in water. We are establishing proper methods for it.
- Improving the health and hygiene of the people.
- Educating the people, not to wastewater.
- Soil conservation.
- Wastewater treatment and recycling.
- Network feeding trees Planting.
- Conservation of rainwater.
- Direction of household wastewater for cultivation.
- Investigate high water-consuming areas and introduce new methods to them.
- Excessive mining and prevention of sand mining.
What are the effects of polluted water on human beings?
- Helps to protect our environment.
- Water conservation minimizes the impact of water and water scarcity.
- It can protect against many infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases.
- Many of the water problems we face in the future can be solved through systematic water conservation.

If you contribute to water pollution irresponsibly, you will face the tragic situation of spending a lot of money on a drop of water in the future. Therefore, from today onwards, it is the responsibility of all of us to prevent network corruption and contribute to the protection of network resources.
