Many instances show that tattoos can represent sophistication, motives for self-expression, fashion statements, and art. Whether you get your first tattoo before turning 18 or after turning 30, it is your choice what kind of message you want to send with the look you choose to put on your body in the form of permanent ink. Of course, there are certain legal requirements in different states due to underage inking in some places, but in general, in most countries, it is one’s right which they should enjoy up until the age of majority.
There are various reasons for getting a tattoo. While some people choose to cover themselves from head to toe in body ink, others choose just a single symbol or design to have inked on their skin. In the psychoanalytic sense, the meaning behind tattoos may change over time- what one person regards as a political statement when they get inked could later become an individual stand-out moment for that specific person and eventually lose its significance entirely or maintain its original meaning.
However, they speak louder than words about who we are and who we want to be.
