These birds are native to a remote island where there are no natural enemies to threaten them. One of the reasons that these gorgeous birds have such vibrant plumage is because of this particular trait. These birds have never needed to hide because there are no dangerous animals in the area. As a result, their feathers have been able to develop and keep their enchanted qualities.
The Nicobar pigeons are regarded to be in a “near threatened” status because only a few of them are left. As a result of this, it has been advocated that conservation efforts be made to assist these birds in thriving.

The Pacific and Southeast Asia are both home to these feathered creatures. The name “Nicobar Pigeon” comes from the fact that they are only found in the Nicobar Islands off the coast of India (thus the name) and further east in places like Papua New Guinea and Thailand.
