Not to mention the Wisteria trees without celebrating the country’s most famous – and amazing – bunch.
The Ashikaga Flower Garden in Tochigi Prefecture has a huge wisteria tree that is over 150 years old. When in bloom, it’s long vertical flower clusters (also known as racemes) form a canopy to immerse you in a delicate purple world. However, that is not all the garden has to offer. It has over 350 different Wisteria trees and a Wisteria tunnel that you can walk under.
The flower of this beautiful tree vary in color. Although purple is the most popular color, the species may have white, pale pink or yellow flowers.
