For a very long time, I’ve wanted to be a part of a shoot like this. I had a mental image of the horse and a woman dressed in steampunk garb strolling along the shore. This action was taking place in the background. We began our planned activities as soon as we arrived at the beach, but it quickly became apparent that our horse, Maddie, was not in a good mood as she repeatedly walked up to the water’s edge and stuck her snout in. She was at a loss for word as to how to handle this peculiar scenario.
We made a few tries to help her by jogging her up and down the beach, but it did not appear that our efforts would be successful. At long last, it became evident that she desired most of all to swim INSIDE the lake… As a result, we all concluded that we should go in, and for the next sixty minutes or so, we occupied ourselves by taking strolls about the lake and going for swims in it, all to capture the magic of this lake-loving horse and her handler.
The photographs that we took came out to be rather incredible… The placidity of this animal, the connection she has with the person who handles her, and the sequence of events resulting from this in the series all stand out as particularly noteworthy aspects of the story. My schooling for the day consists of… Have no preconceived thoughts and be open to experiencing the marvel as it unfolds in front of you; also, do not be scared to get wet while you are going through the process! I sincerely hope that looking at these photographs brings you as much joy as I do.
