Enjoy some breathtaking Icelandic landscapes with Icelandic horses
Liga Liepina specializes in stunning horses roaming majestically in gorgeous Icelandic landscapes as a photographer. During her teen years, she was responsible for taking family pictures with a small digital camera when they travelled to Iceland. The love of images has always held a special place in her heart, she told Tenderly. “I have always believed how important it is to preserve memories so we can revisit them later.”
With more severe photography, Liga began focusing on landscapes. Since horses had been a part of Liga’s life since she was young, she also began photographing them.
As I began with the usual portraits of horses, I quickly realized it would be a disgrace to waste all of Iceland’s beautiful natural surroundings, so I started photographing them in varied environments.
From the beginning of the shot to the final image, every attempt involves a lengthy process. She travels around Iceland often and keeps her eyes on new places. Her work must be done quickly once she’s found the right shot. It is easy for horses to get bored since they have short attention spans.
This type of shoot requires careful planning to be successful. Liga says that accessibility and security are crucial to everything.
The most magical place I’ve ever been to is a waterfall – horses in front of a waterfall are magical. Regardless, I’m on the lookout for a distinctive location with a wow factor, whether it’s waterfalls, lava fields, cliff formations, the seashore, etc.
A magnificent result has been achieved. Iceland’s pure landscapes and its ability and wonder are awe-inspiring.
When taken in Iceland, Icelandic horses have a remarkable ability to blend in with the surrounding terrain. It appears to be quite simple while also having a mystical quality. These kind of horses spend a lot of time outside and haven’t completely lost their feral instincts. Those are the things I like to show in my pictures.
