The founder of the Mrizi I Zanave Agroturizëm revitalized the nearly abandoned countryside in Albania by creating a striking scene that looks toward the modern design while keeping the past. The most stunning thing is the farmhouse which is placed in the middle. Not a common farmhouse, it’s a modern glass farmhouse that cuts a sleek figure while also integrating into the surroundings. You will love Albania if you spend a single night here because they are serving surprising cuisine using locally sourced ingredients.
The project began 8 years ago, and its vision is to mix old and new together. This concept was included by the founder Altin Prenga. The farmhouse was designed by Plis Atelier. To keep the natural textures on the farmhouse, they put traditional stone cladding on the exterior, and it is interrupted by a two-story picture window at the corner of the building to get a modern look.
In the interior, the guest room is furnished with wood to get the traditional feel. Also, the bed, small table, and stools are made from the same type of wood material. It helped to give the interior feel modern and also traditional log cabin.
The restaurant also followed the same theme including huge picture windows to take in the vast expanse of land surrounding the farm. Overhead lights are made from carved small logs. wood-clad walls, ceiling, and lights together helped to get the cozy ambiance for the restaurant, which is perfect for a meal with family and friend.
